30 years
of quality learning in a caring environment
Terranora Preschool and Early Learning is an independent, family-owned and operated preschool and early learning service.
We are a local family of passionate educators and our experience and knowledge come from years of teaching and guiding children through all levels of their education.
In 2008 we purchased Terranora Preschool and Early Learning and our goal was to provide genuine high quality early childhood education and care. By supporting families and working with the local community, we earnt a reputation for being unwilling to compromise on high quality service and a positive culture.
Our desire was to establish the very best childcare centre in Terranora and surrounding Tweed Valley. We researched the world’s best early learning centres and our educators were immersed in professional experiences and teacher exchanges. We customised our curriculum and pedagogy to best suit local Terranora families. Our childcare service was then modelled off the best early learning centres in Sweden, Finland and Canada; leaders in early childhood education.
Caring staff providing genuine care and commitment to your child
We are proud to be an Australian Education service and our educators are carefully chosen for their qualifications, skills and most importantly, their care and commitment. Through quiet but resolute determination we have forged our own path where the needs of the children in our care are at the forefront.
Our aim is to teach and guide your child to have a love and passion for the natural world in which we live. When you visit Terranora Preschool and Early Learning you will see repurposed and recycled furniture. What you won’t see is a future of landfill and the same generic fitout of a typical childcare centre. Instead, we will encourage your child to be interactive, to immerse themselves in a more unique experience, and to value the exquisite nature that surrounds them.
Our skilled educators implement play-based learning that fosters each child’s interests and strengths with intentionality. We implement a holistic and nurturing approach that considers the whole child, along with the implementation of an inquiry-based and play-based model. This means your child will enjoy a meaningful experience while they spend time with us.
Our success is in forming strong family partnerships and building a community spirit. You will see us involved in many community projects and community activities from coaching local sport, to supporting Tweed Valley footy clubs and school fetes, volunteering our time to assist with natural disaster relief, and offering our charity to the Salvos, World Vision, PCYC, The Family Centre and more, also supporting the efforts of Tweed Byron Police to reduce domestic violence. Anything we can do to help strengthen our community, we will.
It Takes a Village…
It may be a cliché to say ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ but we believe it really does. By working collaboratively with educators, NSW Health, Allied Health Services such as occupational therapists, speech therapists and paediatric psychologists, we have designed an exemplary education and care service to benefit your child if you need it.
